We’re hiring the first Technical Account Managers to partner with some of our most strategic enterprise customers. As a TAM, you’ll drive adoption, deliver measurable business value, and help shape how AI transforms engineering teams. You’ll act as the connective tissue between customer stakeholders and our internal teams, influencing both the Cursor roadmap and each customer’s implementation strategy.
This role is highly cross‑functional and customer‑facing. You understand software development workflows, care deeply about developer tools, and love helping engineering organizations succeed at scale.
Responsibilities
Build and grow deep relationships with engineering leaders and power users at key accounts.
Partner with Field Engineering and Sales to deliver a seamless post‑sale experience.
Drive adoption of Cursor by aligning usage with business objectives and engineering goals.
Guide customers on best practices for rollout, prompt strategy, context configuration, and internal enablement.
Serve as the customer’s voice internally and influence roadmap priorities.
Provide strategic account planning and regular business reviews with VP‑ and CTO‑level stakeholders.
Monitor account health, usage patterns, and product engagement to drive renewals and expansion.
Requirements
Strong communication skills and executive presence — comfortable whiteboarding with developers and pivoting to value with a CTO.
Deep understanding of the software development lifecycle and engineering org structures.
Fluency in technical workflows, AI tooling, and developer productivity (even if you haven’t been a full‑time engineer).
Customer‑obsessed with a knack for strategic thinking and problem‑solving.
Thrives in a startup environment: scrappy, proactive, and adaptable.
Experience in TAM, Solutions Architecture, Customer Success, or Consulting for enterprise software.
We're Anysphere, the team behind Cursor.
Our mission is to automate coding. The first step in our journey is to build the best tool for professional programmers, using a combination of inventive research, design, and engineering.
We're a group of engineers and scientists who've built beloved products, created large OSS projects, started at-scale businesses, won olympiad medals, and published significant research (e.g. tmm1, ian, luke, phil, federico, aman, sualeh).
Our organization is very flat, and our team is small and talent dense. We particularly like people who are truthseeking, passionate, and creative. We enjoy spirited debate, crazy ideas, and shipping code.
We're in-person with cozy offices in North Beach, San Francisco and Manhattan, New York, replete with well-stocked libraries. Our investors include Andreessen Horowitz, OpenAI, Jeff Dean, John Schulman, and the founders of Stripe and Github.
If there appears to be a fit, we'll reach to schedule 2-3 short technicals. After, we'll schedule an onsite in our office, where you'll work on a small project, discuss ideas, and meet the team.
